These tours are shaped through my experience as a Vancouver based architect specializing in Japanese architecture and design, with time spent living and working in Japan.

While Japan is a primary focus, my approach is informed by a broader study of culture, history, psychology, and philosophy, as well as time spent traveling across Europe, Asia, and beyond. This includes an interest in how different traditions, from Buddhism to Christianity, have influenced spatial thinking, ritual, and the way environments are shaped and experienced.

The intent is to explore cities not just through architecture as objects, but through the deeper systems that inform them, how people live, how space is perceived, and how cultural values are embedded in the built environment.

Each experience is designed to offer a more thoughtful and layered understanding of place, with an emphasis on observation, discussion, and context.
