HAKU HAUS
2025 | DELTA, BC | CONCEPT STAGE
Haku Haus emerges as a sanctuary of stillness, an intimate retreat that transforms the idea of a backyard spa into an architectural meditation on breath, balance, and being. Rooted in the Japanese word Haku, meaning to exhale, the project embodies release, a quiet surrender expressed through form, material, and light.
Guided by our the philosophy of Ancient Modernism, Haku Haus unites the primal and the contemporary. Stone, cedar, and fire converge with geometric clarity to create an environment that feels both sacred and immediate. Within its hexagonal frame, each space, the sauna, cold plunge, and rest chamber, unfolds in rhythm with the natural breath, inviting calm and reconnection with the body and the land.
Every joint, window, and threshold is placed with intention to hold space for reflection and presence. The result is a composition that feels elemental yet refined, intimate yet transcendent.
At Longpre Architecture, design is an act of devotion, a way of sculpting spaces that bring us back to stillness. Haku Haus invites that stillness, reminding us that to exhale is to return home.
