Edelhaus is a conceptual residential design by Longpre Architecture that explores the idea of a “noble house,” a home shaped by elegance, warmth, restraint, and a close relationship to nature. The name comes from the German words often associated with nobility and refinement, reflecting the project’s study of a house that feels both grounded and elevated.

The concept brings together traditional German architectural influence, Scandinavian clarity, and Japanese spatial restraint. Steep roof forms, warm natural materials, generous glazing, protected outdoor spaces, and a calm interior atmosphere work together to create a home that feels refined, sheltered, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

As a concept design, Edelhaus was developed as an architectural study rather than a completed building. It explores how a contemporary home can blur the line between inside and outside, creating a quiet dialogue between structure, landscape, light, and daily life.

For Longpre Architecture, Edelhaus represents an early study in the design language that continues to shape the studio’s work: homes with atmosphere, dignity, beauty, and soul. It reflects our interest in creating residences that are not only functional, but emotionally resonant, carefully composed, and rooted in the human experience of home.
